As a medium-sized company deeply rooted in the region, SAMSON is boosting its social responsibility efforts by supporting homeland security organized by Germany's military forces.
In its role as an employer, SAMSON makes it possible for its employees to volunteer as reservists in homeland security. These volunteers are trained to help secure critical infrastructure and provide assistance in the event of major disasters. SAMSON will grant staff members who volunteer up to ten days paid leave every year. The German military covers all expenses (including training, salary compensation and social security contributions) while the volunteers are on duty.
The certificate to verify SAMSON's supporting role as an employer was handed over during a military ceremony to transfer the command of the regional regiment of the German federal state of Hesse. The event took place at the Biebrich Palace in the state capital Wiesbaden.
SAMSON employees interested in joining the homeland security forces can contact the 5th Regiment. The 5th Homeland Security Regiment was established in October 2024 as a new reservist unit. Its role is to secure vital infrastructure, provide support in response to national disasters and guard supply routes. Germany plans to set up a total of twelve regiments each with up to 1,200 reservists.
SAMSON is one of 250 employers in Hesse who support the homeland security program.
