As of 1 September 2018, Dr. Nicola Kleppmann will take over as chief executive officer of UBIX GmbH, which is a subsidiary of SAMSON AKTIENGESELLSCHAFT headquartered in Flensburg, Germany. She will succeed Mr. Peter Knapp in this position, who left the company on 31 July 2018.
Dr. Kleppmann has been working for SAMSON since 2016: At the SAMSON subsidiary KT-ELEKTRONIK in Berlin, she led the R&D of digital solutions for district heating and cooling, and she was responsible for re-search projects on wireless technology and the use of artificial intelligence. Major developments included SAM LAN, an intelligent, dynamic wireless solution for interconnecting automation installations across buildings. In addition, Dr. Kleppmann was involved in developing the SAM MOBILE GPRS gateway and the SAM DIS-TRICT ENERGY web portal, which is designed to manage, control and optimize heating systems. Similar to the UBIX digitalization and automation platform, all technologies she co-developed are key products within the SAM DIGITAL line of digital solutions by SAMSON.
UBIX GmbH is headquartered in Flensburg, Germany. It became a part of SAMSON in 2017 and has some 20 employees. UBIX as a modular platform provides maximum scalability as well as maximum flexibility for all industries when it comes to integrating different process control systems. Contrary to common control and monitoring systems, UBIX is also suitable for use in smaller plants with its cloud-based approach of providing software as a service. Thanks to universal interfaces, UBIX can easily be connected to expert systems. These interfaces enable companies to tap into different sources of data, also those that were previously inaccessible. As a result, great potential can be unlocked to increase plant efficiency and availability.
